American Embassy – YANGON, MYNAMAR
The American Embassy in Yangon had been holding new Knoll systems furniture in its warehouse for some three years when they decided to contact T4 to assist with the design and reconfiguration of the General Services office space. In coordination with the Overseas Buildings Office (OBO) at the US Department of State and the Facility Management Office in Yangon, T4 came up with a reconfiguration and installation plan. The T4 project manager and system furniture engineer traveled to Yangon to undertake the reconfiguration and installation effort with the assistance of a local Embassy contracted team. In a week, the T4 team tore down all the old furniture, removed it from the facility, moved the new Knoll furniture into the GSO space and assembled everything to manufacturer standards. Not only did the Embassy enjoy new furniture, the newly installed and reconfigured furniture increased the staff utilization by a third and provided ample workstation size that provided both privacy without sacrificing staff collaboration.
