Contract award in 2019 to supply 200+ open plan and private office workstations as part of the total renovation of the USAID Mission building located in the heart of the prestigious business district of Kinshasa, the capital of the Dem. Rep. of the Congo, T4 only began performance in late 2021 because of delays created by the Corona virus pandemic. Seating, storage and filing, as well as conference and meeting room furniture and cafeteria furniture were part of the order. All workstations and private offices include provision of 220 v / 50 hz electrics and provision for Cat 6 LAN interfacing. After receiving the order to proceed, T4 along with its manufacturing partners, Teknion Furniture and Global Contract furniture, manufactured, produced the order in record time to meet the accelerated schedules. With 10 ocean containers on the water during the uncertain pandemic period, T4 set up its local contractors and clearing agents in coordination with USAID and the American Embassy. Local companies ASG provided labor, Bollore provided customs clearance and forwarding services and GTM provided warehousing and local inland delivery. Over the course of three phases from late 2021 to mid-2022, T4 oversaw all aspects of delivery of product to the USAID building and installation and commissioning of the furniture as well as clean-up of the site. All this occurring while the building was still under renovation and later with staff working in finished parts of the building. USAID has occupied the same building for over 35 years.
